We have responded to four motor vehicle accidents in the past two weeks that were COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE.

The first accident occurred at 12:14 am (Halloween night) at the intersection of CC Road and Highway 22 in Bedico. The vehicle pictured was the result of a hit-and-run. Thankfully no one in the family of four was seriously injured. The other driver ran the stop sign at CC Road and fled the scene. It is believed the hit-and-run vehicle was an older model pickup. It now has damage to the left side.

The second accident was a single vehicle accident that took place at 7:42 am on November 5th, again at the intersection of Highway 22 and CC Road. The impaired driver exited Highway 22 and hit the ditch. She was uninjured.

The third accident took place at 11:57 pm on November 11th at the red light intersection of Highways 190 and 445. It appears the small, red car ran the red light and struck the SUV. The red car also hit the metal-encased power pole in the northwest parking lot . The young female driver of the red car admitted to anyone who would listen that she had been drinking. Both drivers were transported to the hospital for injuries.

The fourth accident occurred t 7:28 am on November 14th at the intersection of Highway 22 and Firetower Road. The sedan was headed west-bound turning onto Firetower Road and was struck in the rear by the grey SUV. The sedan flipped and landed in the ditch on the south side of Highway 22. The driver of the SUV was impaired and was the cause of an accident one mile east at the Exxon Station in Bedico. He fled the earlier scene. Both drivers were transported for injuries.
